Depends on the bread

Catalans Know. They have white baguette type bread, or toasted bread, and they cut a tommy in half, and rub it on the bread just to soften it / give it a tomatoey flavour. Then bit of salt and garlic, and whatever your filling is. Improves almost any sandwich.
