Bit of both tbh. On IG mostly commodities though. Gold/Brent Crude etc

I have just started doing Equities on IG as well.

The big benefit is no Capital gains tax to pay on IG.
Spread betting is exempt.

Downside is its more short-term and no dividends so your longer plays better to buy the stock properly.
