...I really wanted us to be in the premiership, as I couldn't watch us at all otherwise but it's a real struggle getting established and a real shock going from winning most weeks to getting beaten (often well beaten) most weeks.
I know the money is what we need to keep going and I know the players and everyone aspires to be in the premier league but with my two boys still getting into football, I wouldn't begrudge another year at the top end of the championship if that's what happens, to consolidate their interest in going to games. I've gotta admit, I have a soft spot for the championship, even though I will go as mental as everyone else if we get promoted next month.
It would be a shame to get so close and fall at the final hurdle - and of course it's not all over yet. I'd like to see how Neil gets on in the top flight, but another year in the championship wouldn't hurt him either. I don't think he would jump ship so quickly; he would have a summer to put together his own squad and start afresh. I'm sure a decent number of players would head out but we would still be better funded than most in the division and those coming down don't always do as well as everyone thinks (as this season shows)
I'm nervous about playing Ipswich in the semis but I would like to. It'd be a great occasion and I'd much rather have the games on Saturday lunchtimes, especially as I have small kids and my little boy can sing his Super Brad song again : )
