timekeeping, wired up refs, backchat

I'm not particularly a rugby fan but the way rugby is refereed seems massively superior. Every decision is explained and justified for the world to hear at the time of the whistle. No ref running away shaking his head, no players hounding the ref, just good decisions, and explained for all to hear.

And, although many wouldn't like it, stop the clock when there is an injury, or sub, or yellow card which requires a talking to, and get rid of the joke that is injury time. Every ref applies it differently. Just give him a watch that controls the stadium clock and we all know exactly how long is left.

Nothing will change tho. Too many people think the rules of football are golden and must never change.
