if you need grub on your way back, then Neston Farm (sort of between BoA and Melksham) is decent, and there's a bunch of small farm animals on hand for the kids to see.

If you're not in a rush home, then if you go the A4 route towards Marlborough you'll hit Avebury and some of the neolithic sites.
