Now there's people getting nervous about whether he'll stay long enough or get poached by a bigger club - and probably not Villa this time.

It was a gamble and it paid off. Easy with hindsight to say "obviously the right appointment" but I don't recall anyone saying that at the time. Most were more "well let's give him a go and see" (which was my view) at best.
