Yes, judging by the reviews I've been reading, quite a lot.

The insides can't possibly all fit in the outsides. The ballroom particularly can't fit.

Which is odd, and of particular significance apparently, because Kubrick was absolutely meticulous.

Also, he never visited the real exterior locations. All the outdoor shots with Nicholson and Duvall were done in Elstree (or Ealing or suffen, I for get).
