Yeah, that's fair comment

I think the headline top rate should remain at 45% - or 47% including NICs. However the clever accounting loopholes, which are readily visible on the internet, should be closed down via a General Anti Avoidance Rule much stricter than we have at the minute. But that's just my view, and one no political party shares. Largely because it would primarily hit the affluent middle classes (not top classes) both parties need to attract to win elections...
