he wasn't available/fully on the radar back when Adams was appointed (or if he'd have been sacked sooner). Imagine the uproar if we'd have appointed a then still unproven Scottish Div 1 manager? At almost the same time as we appointed Adams, Neil had just lost the first leg of the Div 1 play-offs...
If we'd gone for someone half decent we may have been performing well enough not to need to sack them at the time we got Neil. I'm sure Neil would've been snapped up by someone else sooner rather than later.
Yes, Adams was a mistake but that doesn't mean we'd be any better off than we are now had we replaced him earlier or not appointed him in the first place.
