They wouldn't necessarily need a coalition

If -and it's a big if at this stage - Labour ended up with the most seats but not an outright majority, they could do a supply-and-demand deal with SNP or other parties. They wouldn't necessarily need to opt for outright coalition.

Personally, I'm English and don't get the anti-Scottish thing. I don't know anyone who it's a big deal for - and in fact many lefties I know would prefer a Labour/SNP hook-up - though I am a creative type so am probably pre-disposed to being a bit of pinko (in the words of the frothy-mouthed right-leaning types)
