Speaking as an atypical NQT+1

I doubt it's the "highly-qualified, highly motivated" ones who are going. On my course there were a significant number of people who had never been outside education and were singularly lacking life experience. There were also those who had lost other jobs and looked at teaching as an easy ride. Those 2 groups would constitute a lot of the drop outs I reckon. And you don't really know if you can do it whilst you are training. Some just can't.
They'll have to carry me out in a box.
