If St Etienne don't want him it looks like we may have to write off RvW and get whatever we can for him (2m?), if someone will pay his wages.

Interestingly, the situation with him is quite normal in the Prem. Since we signed him, there have been 16 other strikers signed in the Premier League for around the same fee (7-10m) - and the majority have been complete flops. Only two (Ba and Remy) look good value, and they both had release clauses so were cheaper than they should have been.

It suggests that if we get promoted, you either have to spend really big (12m+) on a striker if you want pretty much guaranteed goals. Or try to find a cheap bargain (less than 5m) and spend more money on quality players in other positions.
