Some people are saying we won't get more than ?7 million for Ashton

Surely if we don't get more than ?7million, we just won't sell him (unless he really wants to go and kicks up a fuss, but he doesn't seem like that type of player). ?7 million doesn't sound like a 'crazy' offer does it?. Paul Jewell said they weren't interested at the price we were saying because it was silly money but Wigan would pay ?7 million if they really wanted him wouldn't they?

If he had already been sold as some suggest, why would Worthington say he is going nowhere? If he is already sold you may as well just admit rather than it come out the next day that you were lying through your teeth. I'm not saying that you can trust everything the club says, but it would just be ridiculous for them to say he is going nowhere if he is already sold. On the other hand, he could still go at any time if someone did make a silly offer so we just don't know.

Personally I don't think clubs will be willing to pay the amount that we want, unless it is a club feeling particularly flush for cash - maybe Portsmouth, but even then Redknapp won't pay over the odds will he if we want ?10 million. He seems happy here, he doesn't have a t**t for an agent, he's young so waiting to move in the summer wouldn't be too terrible, and at least in the summer he knows what teams are in europe, if they still have the same manager etc. He may well go but it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed.
