Well just a short while after celebrating my 30 years as a Norwich fan, it seems I have

another anniversary.

According to my 1980 diary, it's 35 years to the day since I stepped foot in this fine city when I came to look around UEA.

Even back then I had good taste and judgement.

Wednesday March 19th 1980

Norwich was lovely - I really like it there and the course seems fun too - I was much more impressed with it than I was Reading or York. Met some nice people too who were going... I was really annoyed that I got back to London with enough time to catch the 1/4 to 5 train when the yellow line turned into the green one. I therefore had to catch the next one. (Shows how gullible and naive I am for believing the sign that said all trains from that platform go via Paddington!)

I have since learned to master that trick circle/district line by the way.
