Souness bemoaned the damage done to "Liverpool's good name" when Suarez bit Ivanovic

What did Liverpool's good name mean to Souness when he was routinely turning opponent's legs into hamburger meat? And please note: being celebrated for it too.

"In their day..." Older people always, always, always think things were better in their day. It's human nature, or at least appears to be in most cases. Nostalgically moaning about some lost, golden era when all in football was honourable. But it wasn't. It never was.
