You can only assume our reported interest in Jerome and Andy Gray represents a strong likelyhood that if Man City do cough up this 7.5million then Ashton will want to, and be allowed, to leave the club.
With regards to Andy Gray or Jerome, personally I would prefer the club to bring in Jerome as replacement, although Gray does have a proven goal scoring record with Sheff U. At 19 however, you would think Jerome can only get better and 2million spent now could yield a higher price in the future - much like with Ashton.
Having said that, if we continue to play the one up front and two forwards system, Jerome on his own maybe a bit of risk seeing as his physical size could let the system down, and Gray maybe more suited to the role.
Who know's.
