In his code review meeting he's going to have to be prepared to answer some pretty sharp questions about why he's representing a j/s array in a string, and then calling a JSON eval function, instead of simply rendering a JSON array in the first place. And that's skipping over the whole business about the appropriateness of doing that all on the client-side and not the server-side, but I expect that ship sailed a v. long time ago.
