You are correct sir. But Win 98 release 2 ( or something) does support USB.

Pants - it's your OS causing the prob, either upgrade to Win2k (I would recommend this unless the PC is a right ropey old dog - it might struggle with a behemoth OS like Win2k), or get a copy of the version of win98 that does support USB. I might be able to help with sourcing that, nudge nudge.
