I think it only gets you so far

a good stats based approach - which is basically playing the percentages - can probably get you to the Championship, because so much of management in the lower leagues is based on anecdotal evidence and methods.

In the Prem though every team has so many analysts that it is, more or less, a level playing field in that respect. The main differences are money, or finding a really inspirational and tactically sound manager.
