But the failure of either the writer or any of the commenters to mention that they should've been down to 10 men midway through the 1st half is kinda revealing. Football fans just don't notice when things go for them, and always notice when things go against them.
I really liked his focus on how badly they lost their shape after the penalty though. It's not about refereeing decisions, but how a team responds to them. And I especially liked this bit:
"This was, in many respects, a Premier League defeat; so much good work undone by one moment ? of this case of bad luck, it might as well have been quality ? following which things ran away from us resulting in a scoreline that was simultaneously both harsh and fully deserved."
Yes, yes, yes. Norwich are now playing like a Premier League side on loan to the Championship: in our mental strength and streetwise approach as much as our quality. Good or very good sides take maximum advantage of breaks that go their way: and that's what we did. Terrific.
