Granted, that is hyperbolic.

It just seems to me that this seemingly endless cycle of abuse, individual prosecution, more abuse, isn't really changing anything. The level of attention last night's events have garnered provides an opportunity to take a strong stance for the reasons I just mentioned. And wouldn't it be great if footballing authorities could turn around and say look, we're leading the way here and showing that racism, when it occurs under the banner of football (as it did last night), will be met with the strongest possible consequences.
