Lakes - more touristy and more expensive....

Actually the best thing up there is t the lakes but grizedale forest....

Peaks - cheaper, less touristy amd more 'hill wlaker' - blue john mines amd scarfell pike are great - buxton is lovely as are surrounding villages

I've done both and enjoyed both....
