I sometimes wonder if the nice guy thing

is just the same as the Super Sherwood thing. More that the media constantly tell us he's nice. I'm sure there are lots of equally nice managers. Probably more than not nice. But they're not constantly wheeled out as being nice, and more to the point, as a manager who should never be fired because he's jolly nice.
