What became of Saul in Breaking Bad?

Did he flee town when Walter hooked up with the hoover man to get new ID's?

So the b/w bit at the start of BCS was Saul reminiscing post BB about how he became Saul?

Apologies if this is entry level television series stuff, but Lady Walkers borne a kid in the time since I last watched Breaking Bad, and one year of no sleep later I'm hazy on details.
