Except it's barely better than the bloody copper would be......From my cabinet to my (new) house is over a kilometre. Which starts to degrade horribly at that distance.

Should be getting 30Mbps. I get 14. On ADSL2+, I'd get 10. Binned it off and back to copper on 23rd.
