Hungarian Chat redux

I was working in Germany about 10 years ago and a couple of other lads in the factory were Hungarian. Despite them not speaking a word of The Queens English, and me not a word of Hungaristani, we got on great guns. They taught me some card game in the bar every night, not entirely sure what the hell it was as it didn;t involve a normal deck of cards, and they could have been having me on with a set of tarot cards in the style of that made up as you go along game "Cups" from Friends. But by the end of the week I could play and win hands of this game, and could speak a few sentances with them. I made phonetic notes, but the only word I can remember now is "Esh-egg-ed-ray" which I'm presuming means something booze/greeting related.

Last week I had a hungarian meal, it involved creamy mash potato mountains with intense peas and bacon bits. Tremendous scenes.

More red-hot hungarian reminiscing later.
