When I did my TESOL five years ago, we had four classes in another language

The idea being to see what it's like for students when teachers can't speak a word of their native language. The L2 we were taught? Hungarian.

The teacher did not say one word of English throughout the four classes. At various times, we were baffled, confuddled, overwhelmed, losing the will to live... yet by class 3, let alone class 4, we'd all started understanding her. It was incredible: she was a brilliant teacher.

Absolute nightmare of a language. None of the pronunciation seems to make any sense at all at first. So many long words and weird sounds. Big big respect to anyone who's learnt it or can speak it.
