I remember in '86 when QPR (now grrr!) were the highest finishing London club, memory serving. I like to see Southampton "over achieving" now. When you could go to Carrow Road and genuinely expect a competitive game/result against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc. Now staying up is the best most can ask for. When cup competitions meant something, especially the downgraded UEFA Cup, and the European Cup was for Champions only ("Champions' League"? Pffft).
