I didn't assert anything as a fact, I simply said I think it's boring, i.e. nothing more than my opinion. My opinion that I'm perfectly entitled to regardless of yours.
There are many sports that can produce something that is an enthralling watch and a great sporting contest. I thought the curling at the Winter Olympics was all of those. That doesn't mean I find curling intrinsically exciting.
There was nothing ambiguous about your first response. It was perfectly clear; if I don't agree with your view, I either watch games with a closed mind or I don't know what great sport is.
Well, you're wrong on both counts. I didn't express a view on whether it was a great sporting exhibition or not, and nor was I in a position to do so as I didn't watch it. Quite simply, I don't find rugby intrinsically interesting.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I don't feel the need to make some sweeping generalisation that because you like rugby you must be a toff or a knuckle dragger. If you share your opinion on something you can expect some people to disagree but there are ways of doing that which require one to be neither patronising nor rude.
So you can take your faux apology and stick it up your arse.
