There's never really an upset though

You'd never have the equivalent of a non-league team beating a premier league team.

Also, if you have the possession you win. There's no smash and grab wins with a goal against the run of play. It's more attritional.

On that basis, I find it lacks variety.

That's just my opinion though. I love golf, you might not. But that doesn't bother me in the slightest and I'm not about to start being an arse about it.
