Maybe I'm super cynical

but if all this waters down CC's drink driving charge days before the lorry incident, then Ralf Little's comments are completely spot on

After the incident, football grounds of CCs former clubs all clapped in games where the minutes matched his squad numbers

I witnessed this at York and couldn't bring myself to clap. When asked, I said to my brother in law that it's because I remember when he was 18, he admitted being an alcoholic. I admired this because any 18 year old can be pissed every night without a second thought. But he admitted something early and that took some doing

I said to my BIL, the thing I'm concerned about, is if you go to his wiki page, or do a search on google, there's very little mention of this, which makes it sound like I've made it up. Then I said that wikipedia has no mention or details about his problems, only one drink driving conviction in 2011. I said that what I don't like is how his problems have been airbrushed by how clever he is, or how he's an ambassodor for the PFA

My BIL sighed about the wiki thing with the usual "it's wikipedia". I didn't take the convo further because he only had my words to take, and had only known the media's portrayal of him as a lovely bloke (as well as overwhelming support in the ground)

I left it because I've had situations like this on here, and I get accused of being a troll for being contrary or taking the opposite view on purpose. So I bit my lip and thought "oh well, for some reason CC gets media protection"

Since then, trickles of information about a few things are coming out. Carlisle who is media trained, is skillfully moving through the gears of in the mainstream media. The media are responding to this with support, whilst providing heavy criticism to anyone who may point out some of the cracks in the story

If he gets a very light charge for drink driving days before to the lorry incident, then I'll continue to be cynical as I am about any of it.

Stepping away from mental health angle, CC is committing criminal offences, and that shouldn't at be forgotten
