I think that, or something like it, was necessary, only after getting trappy on Twitter

If he'd not put anything on Twitter about it, he'd not have needed to say anything at all, and I think that would have been for the best.

But after giving 140 chars of a snippet of opinion, he really had to clarify, or just be written off as a muckraking c**t.
