I hope this email finds you safely and that you and your family are well.

My name is Matt, and I was an (online) friend of your Dad. You were good enough, a year ago, to let the group of us on Wrath of the Barclay know of Alan's passing, and I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that you and your Dad are in our thoughts. I hope this time of year isn't too painful for you.

We're a ragtag group of lunatics and argumentative idiots, but on the whole we're a pretty decent bunch. And your Dad was one of the best of us - he really was. His passing hit me really hard, and I know many of the others were similarly effected.
