it's largely the cost of football IMO

As the financial investment required from the fans increases, so does the expectation of those fans as they expect some degree of value for money - particularly when they are watching players earning more in a year than many will in a working lifetime.

It's also symptomatic in a change in society whereby individuals expect more generally and generally expect it instantly.

And f**k it, lets also blame Championship Manager whilst we're at it. Most of us have taken Norwich to the Champions League. Can't be that hard in real life, can it? by hook or by crook.

Mostly I think it's the sheer cost of football now, and the feeling that spending all that money to watch a match has to be justified somehow.
