Aha. Yes, google lets you set up as many calendars as you like, so will

handle what you want.

Sign up a google account, then go to User Posted Link

On the left hand navigation is an area called My Calendars with a little arrow menu - click that little arrow and select Create New Calendar. Fill in the details, such as name, description, timezone etc. Then when you create calendar events you can pick which of your calendars it should go into.

When you want to share it, there's a couple of options. Back at the main calendar page again, look at My Calendars, click on your new calendar, and then on the little arrow icon next to it. You can either select "Share this Calendar" to share with specific people by entering their email address, or you can click on "Calendar Settings" and from the bottom of that page you can copy an iCal link from the "Calendar Addresses" section at the bottom. That's how I shared the Norwich Fixtures thing, by posting the iCal address on here.
