the fact he couldn't take up another post before Feb 1st suggests it was not as amicable a departure as the club suggests.......... If they didn't mind him leaving then why stop him taking up another post immediately especially if it was in another division?
If you sell a player or agree to compo for a managers its normally assumed they are free to leave and start at their new club ASAP.
