I don;t think Bassong was really any worse than any other CB last season

I think people have retrospectively convinced themselves that he was some complete liability but he still played in most of the clean sheets we kept at premier league level. Yes he wasn;t as good as the season before and he made some mistakes but my own view (and its just my opinion - I am sure others disagree) is that even the 2013-2014 Bassong would have been plenty good enough to perform at this level and better than Cuellar, Hoiveld, martin etc. Maybe fully fit and on form Turner and Bennett would be of a similar level.

And yes I do think we would have been better had he been playing because we have chucked away so many points due to our dodgy defence and i think the nervousness that causes spreads though the side. Just my opinion though.

Will be interesting to see if he plays Saturday. I hope if he does then he's properly fit to do so.
