dont suppose any answers will be fortcoming but worth a try:
Have just read comments attributed to Roger Munby stressing that we have no more money for transfers unless we
a)overspend
b)raise money through other means eg share sale
C)sell deano, Hucks, Green etc
I have several questions & points to raise re this if I may?:
In the summer we released:
1 Graham Stuart
2 Philip Mulryne
3 David Bentley
4 Marc Edworthy
5 Danny Crow
6 Gary Holt swapped with Louis-Jean
In addition we sold for a fee the following:
1 Mattias Jonson ?700,000
2 Mattias Svensson ?100,000
3 Damien Francis ? ? 2 million
4 Thomas Helveg ? 135,000
This is just short of 3 million pounds in cash and a huge saving on wages.
I also gather that we have very healthy season ticket sales (reflected by the highest average attendance in the league) and 6 million pounds this year and next by way of parachute payments in the premiership.
In came as already mentioned Louis-Jean (no fee as swapped for Holt)
Peter Thorne (free)
Jason Jarrett (free)
Dean Marney loan returned to sender with more than half the season to go
Andy Hughes undisclosed max?? ?500,000
Jurgen Colin ?225000
(subsequently Etuhu) ?450,000
We have sinced loaned lots of players to attempt to cover up an inept summer in the transfer market. Please forgive me if I forget anyone!
1 Kevin Lisbie
2 Calum Davenport
3 David Wright
4 Dickson Etuhu
5 Carl Robinson
Why do we have no cash for transfers?? Taking into account all of the above I can't make sense of it. If as I expect you may point to the number of loan signings we have made may I point to the clubs motto "prudence with ambition". What is prudent about deperately plugging gaps in the squad with short term loan signings??
Do the club acknowledge that Nigel Worthington had a poor summer in the transfer market?
Have the club sifted through the list of players bought/sold by Nigel and analysed how many have been a success/failure??
Why is Nigel Worthington raising the hopes of fans talking about signing Cameron Jerome for a possible ?2 million when we have no money to spend on players? Please note we dont want Dean Ashton to be sold though if he is the blame will be squarely with the manager.
I am a passionate Norwich City supporter and I speak on behalf of many when I say something doesn't add up.
Any response (without spin i.e honest) would be very much appreciated.
OTBC forever.
