Bit like....

When many on here put an annoying 's' on the end of a noun, for no reason than to sound like a meercat from the adverts..... Started ages ago with the debate over cliff richard where i think someone referred to him as cliff richards.... Now it seems any noun is fair game....tho theres a few persistant offenders that others follow...

'quoffie' is my grasp to a fond memory of a trip to new york (notice the OP the other day typed 'new york' but in an american local accent?!) - this word is no different... I reckon i must have drank about 20 cups of Quoffie in one day - due to the free refills and the fact its the cheapest drink there (and my unhealthy love of caffeine).
