Is establish his favored system of playing. Begin tomorrow implementing it in the first team and instruct the under 21s and youth to do the same. Identify each player's strongest position in that favored system and let them compete for a spot. It's hard for me to criticize Whittaker and Lafferty for poor performances when they have to spend time thinking about what to do rather than instinctively doing it. I would rather miss promotion this year in favor of building a program where you can plug a player into his favorite spot when suspensions and injuries crop up. This is not to say
that you don't have a plan B, but Norwich is always going to be a club that gets results more on being well drilled and organised rather than winning with sheer talent. The round peg in square hole simply is not going to work with this talent level.
