Couple of thoughts

This team is amazingly inconsistent isn't it? We are capable of phases when we play really well. Equally, were capable of some terrible dross. It's been like that all season, from game one, away at Wolves.

We can't expect AN to address that in a couple of weeks. It's a problem that runs right through the squad. And it probably means that we're not going to put some massive winning streak together. We're more likely to win 2-3, draw one lose one.

Which probably means we won't make top 2, and this squad probably doesn't deserve to. Play offs may be achievable, perhaps even should be achievable. Maybe we should adjust our expectations accordingly, and support a push for the playoffs, rather than killing the team when they fail to push for top 2.

Whatever happens, this squad needs an overhaul next season. If we luck out, we might do that back in the prem. But there's a few long serving players who aren't cutting it and our summer recruitment is increasingly looking quite bad, Jerome aside. We will be supporting a very different team in 12 months time.

Tried to base these thoughts as little on yesterday as I could. Yesterday was just a poor performance made terrible by having no midfield. And credit to Brentford, they were good and simply played a lot better than we did. That's going to happen sometimes to this squad, because its not THAT good, especially with so many injuries.
