Of course, Alex Neil is a huge risk. But so was our most successful manager lately. It will take him some time to get to know the players, the club, the division, etc.
He has only had one full week of training and he hasn't even been able to work with the players with his Assistant yet.
What if we had employed a "sure thing" in Clubshop Pulis or Curbishley and they hadn't achieved promotion. In my opinion, we'd have signed ourselves up to much longer in the Championship. On top of this we'd all be so much more disenchanted and upset with our beloved club.
Alex Neil now has a significant amount of games (and time) to establish his best team and tactical approach for the Championship. If he loses a few initially then fine. I'd rather be the team storming into the playoffs having won 8 out of 10 matches than the team stumbling the other way (hopefully the binmen).
