At which point, within this in-no-way-proveable-just-me-thinking-out-loud-as-many-fans-do hypothesis, we'd left ourselves no option other than Adams - a bit like, very happily as it turned out, the Phil Neal/Mike Walker saga in Summer 1992?
2. Chris Hughton became Brighton manager on 31 December. Nell Adams left Norwich on 5 January. Is this a coincidence? By which I mean, having spent so much on the squad, were we maybe not in the best position to get rid of Adams until Hughton found work? It wasn't mutual consent when Hughton left Norwich, was it?
There is almost certainly zero merit in either theory. I'm just throwing them out there as I've been wondering about both.
