Radiohead are pretty psychotherapy to sound. It might be boring to some, or drivel to others, but it's an exceptional continuum of sound and words (in some songs) about difficulty with intense personal boundaries people have (thus leading to isolation, solitude, even psychosis)
Intense people become so welded to another person that they have no concept in doing this, their own identity and individuality is being crucified by their own anger/jeolously/feeling of being abandoned/hatred/
And that's how people get lost and detached. Radiohead's output might be a lot of depressing s**te to some people. For every person they've reached though, and opened a door to breakthrough. That's what makes them important
I only own one Radiohead album. I'm not even a massive fan, but I'm intensely aware of what they've tried to achieve in music, and they have
You mention Iceland, and I agree acts from this region are incredibly tuned into the above and create incredibly sound frequencies and lyrics to unlock lots of things inside people that they didn't know needed to be released and controlled
Coldplay, Razorlight, Kasabian, Ed Sheeran. They are 'w**k excuses for bands/songwriters'. Radiohead - not
