Suspension Clarification Please

Just trying to understand the rules about suspension. I thought that once you reached 5 yellow cards or were sent off you automatically miss the next game (possibly more for red card depending upon cause). If so, Macca would miss West Ham. He doesn't but misses Plymouth instead.

So is it red card immediate suspension and 5 yellows means missing the game after next?
