Same thought had been going through my head a wee bit. It's only when we get above ourselves and start signing, for want of a better term, mercenaries, that things go wrong. Back to basics isn't a bad idea at all, and Neil could fit that very well - or alternatively, might be a total fish out of water.

The element of risk would be too great for me to appoint him if I had the choice - but he's not some nobody either. His achievements are very real; his abilities clearly are too.
