As has no doubt been said below the thing that makes me optimistic about this

appointment (if it happens) is that we seem to have once again targeted a manager we want. Its back to the style of the Lambert and Hughton appointments (the latter obviously went wrong later on but at the time you could argue he was what we needed to steady the ship) rather than the odd shambles in the summer.

I have no idea if this guy is any good or not but he must have been recommended to us and somebody must have done their research here to identify him as who we want. It will either be a masterstroke or a complete f**king disaster.
