Quite a few agree that we have one of the best squads in the division. Over the course of the season that ought to be enough to make top 6, no matter who's managing / coaching. We're 7th now so if top 6 is the minimum expectation then there's no real reason to panic. So if Adams decides that he's had enough, it should be that a competent replacement won't need to do much as the average ability of the team will come through over time and that manager could be anyone. The same would apply for a poor team over performing - they'd drop down eventually, as we did in 2009. Gunn only made one place difference to Roeder in the end.
So by that logic I guess a decent halfway intelligent manager ought to have a good chance here. Alternatively, maybe the squad isn't as good as a lot of us think. The debate is mainly personal - I don't like Warnock, you don't like Sherwood, others don't like Phelan. The hardest part is still following Lambert.
