Totally different scenario

They had largely awful squads and no money. The frustration is that the quality we already have, and the short window of cash from parachute payments means we have an extraordinarily good opportunity with someone experienced in charge.

Most of our positive results this season have come from goals scored by a moment of individual class or very short bursts of good interplay. Millwall was a good example - we humped them scoreline-wise yet never really looked fluent and I was frankly bored halfway through. I can't think of a singe game where we've genuinely played well for a whole game and looked like we've been sent out with a clear gameplan. Possibly scum away? That's about it.

Act now and we've got a real chance of a good run. Leave Adams in charge and this season will precipitate a decade of mediocrity akin to 95 - '04
