They were forced into giving Lambert what he wanted - at least for a time - because we were on the verge of administration, and the destruction of everything (not least, Delia's legacy in the community).
Yet they ended up falling out with him big style, badmouthing him for months afterwards, and our Chairman whined he was the "most impatient man he'd ever known in business". So impatience for success is a crime now? At NCFC, apparently it is.
We then appoint two mild-mannered, wouldn't say boo to a goose types who couldn't motivate their way out of a wet paper bag. And in Adams' case, the board clearly concluded after the RVW and other debacles that they had to have a much firmer rein on signings. That's why I think they couldn't get anyone better in; because no-one good will take the job under terms which don't give them full control.
